Cogentis is a British Columbia based company. The core leadership of Cogentis is comprised of a seasoned senior manager who brings together a growing number of staff and consultants from BC and across Canada.

Astrid Levelt, Managing Director

Ms. Levelt serves as the Managing Director of the organization, providing strategic direction and overseeing development, partnerships, and consulting services for Cogentis and its clients. She has extensive experience in the start-up and daily operations of private surgical centres, specifically in British Columbia. Most recently, she served as the Director of Operations and Development for Ambulatory Surgical Centres Canada Company, overseeing clinic operations in Vancouver and Prince George. During this time, she worked extensively to develop and negotiate the first long-term contracts with a BC health authority for the provision of outsourced surgical services, and subsequently oversaw the implementation of these contracts. Prior to that, Ms. Levelt was General Manager of another private surgical facility.

Ms. Levelt has been committed to services which enhance the community, including founding and serving as a long-term volunteer board member to a Vancouver-based, internationally partnered, not-for-profit organization to assist women in their efforts to return to the workforce. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Science in Management (Healthcare Administration) from the University of Maryland University College. She is a member of the Canadian College of Health Services Executives (CCHSE).
